Just to Clarify...

There has been a little confusion over the bike rides planned for November 22nd.

So, just to clarify:
No, we are not planning a five and a half hour ride to our wedding!
Nor are we planning to have any lycra featured in our wedding ceremony.

But if you would like to join us for a short ride (probably 1.5hours max) in the morning, before all the celebrations begin, please join us!

Accommodation Options

Here are some accommodation options for the wedding in both Warragul and Yarragon.

Warragul
Warragul is the most convenient location in relation to Danny's The Venue, however options may be limited due to other events on in the area (A Pet Expo being one!).

Motels
There are three motels in Warragul.

The Freeway Motor Inn is the closest accommodation to the reception.
Rooms start at $105 per night for a 'double'.
50 Rulemont Road
Warragul
+61 (0) 3 5623 5222

The Edinburgh Motor Inn is about a 15min walk from the reception, but is closer to the town centre than the Freeway Motor Inn.
Rooms start at $100 per night for a double.
61 Princes Highway
Warragul

The Best Western Warragul is on the western edge of town, and has recently been done up. It is a 5min drive from the reception.

Other Accommodation

A small number of B&Bs can be found in and around Warragul. Some options are available here.

Crabapple Cottage is not too far from the town centre, located up behind Edinburgh Motor Inn.

Yarragon
Yarragon is located 12km east of Warragul. It is most famous as the town which first launched The Nut Bloke. It also has a great range of shops to browse, an awesome bakery, and decent coffee.

Motel

The Yarragon Motel was first made famous for hosting Jason Donovan on his regional tour of Victoria, and has since hosted a number of small-medium sized names who wish to avoid the big town lights and action of Warragul when not performing at the Warragul Arts Centre.
Rooms start at $88 for a queen double.
119 Princes Highway
Yarragon
+61 (0) 3 5634 2655

Other Accommodation

Yarragon has a few more B&B options, found here and here.

Yarragon Villas on Campbell is well presented and located, yet off the highway. Room rates vary, but start from $150 per night.

Gifts - Insulin for Life

Hello to all!

Here is the start of some background info we hope to provide for guests on our day. The first post relates to gifts, and the information we couldn't fit on the invite about Insulin for Life.

In lieu of a gift for our wedding, you can make a donation to Insulin for Life.

Insulin for Life Australia is a not-for-profit organisation that collects and distributes insulin and other diabetes supplies that would otherwise be wasted.

Its objectives are to:

  • collect and donate insulin, syringes, test strips and other supplies in urgent situations
  • donate supplies to several countries and Diabetes Associations continually, based on a philosophy of equity of access
  • encourage the development of similar programs elsewhere. IFL has helped establish similar programs in Europe and the USA.
  • help develop and implement sustainable improvements in insulin supply in countries in need.

Money donated will go towards shipping costs for insulin and diabetes supplies to a number of their operations in Central and South America.

You can donate in two ways:

  • via cheque, made out to Insulin for Life and sent to Insulin for Life Treasurer, Faye Kirkwood at:

The Treasurer

Insulin for Life

16 Selworthy Avenue

South Oakleigh Vic 3167

  • or via the Insulin for Life website which has a PayPal facility.

n.b. please indicate either with an accompanying note to the cheque, or on the online form, that the donation is in honour of Monique and Ewin's wedding.

Should you require further information, please contact the Insulin for Life Treasurer Faye Kirkwood.

Due to the nature of their work located outside of Australia, Insulin for Life is not currently tax-deductible. They are currently working on achieving this status, which is granted to few organisations that operate outside of the country.
